Communicating and Negotiating with a Global Mindset

Certificate Programs

This brand-new program focuses on Global Mindset and how you can use it to increase your effective communication and negotiation performance. In this program, you will learn your own Global Mindset profile and will develop an understanding of your own negotiating preferences. You will also have a chance to practice successful communication and negotiation strategy in the context of the specific culture(s) with which you interact in your workplace. Download Brochure »

The objective of this program is to help you become a more effective cross-cultural negotiator and communicator. You will develop:

Continuing Education Units

The continuing education unit (CEU) is a recognized method of quantifying participation in an organized continuing education experience under qualified instruction. One CEU is equal to 10 contact hours of time spent in such an educational experience.

The main purpose of CEUs is to provide a permanent record of the educational accomplishments of an individual who has completed non-credit educational and career enhancement activities.

Each participant successfully completing the program is eligible to receive 2.0 CEUs.

This course includes discussions, case studies and exercises in the following areas:

  • Understanding and managing cross-cultural issues
  • Global Mindset and its relevance to global leaders
  • Analysis and review of how to improve your Global Mindset
  • Analyzing your personal cultural profile via the Cultural Orientation Indicator
  • Transformational negotiation
  • The 6 dimensions of the negotiation preparation and field analysis

Accommodations

Thunderbird's Executive Inn, located on the Thunderbird campus, features 134 private bedrooms equipped with a full- or queen-sized bed, private bath, desk, cable TV, refrigerator and coffee maker. Each room has a laptop computer plug-in, plus private phone service with voicemail. Same-day laundry service is available. For your safety and convenience, all facilities are non-smoking and accommodations can be made for special needs.
